The Aquarium

I just love educational field trips. After a fun picnic at the park we decided to head to the Aquarium since it has been raining sooooooo much. Lots of other people had the same idea and it was crowded but the kids had fun anyway. They love to touch the sting rays, watch the sharks and check out the electric eel. There is something different every time that they love to spend time looking at. This time I thought it was awesome to see shark eggs that had a hole cut in them so you could see the baby growing inside. It was so incredible to see. The boys love learning new facts about the sea life, like jelly fish don't have brains. Who knew?!

Last Week of School

The last week of school was busy and went by way too fast. We had such a great year. Jax had a great teacher and made lots of new friends in his class and so we were sad to see the year end. He learned so much and is reading so many things. It is amazing to me how some things just click. He received and award for having great citizenship. We are so proud of how hard he works at school to learn and also include others. He is a good friend to everyone.

Preschool Graduation(s)!!

We made it through a crazy year of two home preschool groups. Jar learned so much I was truly amazed. At the first of the year he was not very interested but now he asks everyday if it is preschool. He has started to love learning.

We had two separate graduations. I guess we just needed extra reasons to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Way to go Jar! Thanks everyone for all of your hard work and prep time. The kids loved it!

Memorial Day Camping Trip

Don't let these pictures fool you. Grif was actually in heaven sitting in dirt piles, eating all day and just roaming around.

Rain, rain go away..... What would we do if it didn't rain when we went on our annual Memorial Day camping trip with our friends. We learned from last year how to prepare a little better, so even though it rained we still had a great time! The kids love the area we go to since they can adventure out on their own and we can still see them. They feel independent and I still feel in control. They were so filthy when we got home. Jax actually had a mud line when he took off his socks. Oh the joys of camping!

Jax and Jar loved going on a four wheeler ride. Jar also loved just sitting on the little motorcycle even when it was chained up on a the trailor. Grif on the other hand liked the helmet and looking at them but getting too close was not an option for him.

School Carnival

Ten days before the school carnival I was asked to help get the food ordered and ask to get some donations. It turned out to be more than just that. It was a crazy, crazy whirlwind but I made some great new friends and had fun seeing how happy all of the kids were. I must say the highlight for many was having bear come. Grif loved seeing Bear and saying "Bear, bear a go, go?" since then. He loves his "ball, ball". The boys had a really great time while mom was running around like a crazy chicken.

We headed to San Diego last month for a family funeral. We were saddened by the loss of Uncle Tom but we are grateful for our family and the wonderful memories we will have to share forever. The boys love their cousins and some we don't get to see very often since they live so far away.

Preschool Field Trip

What a fun way to start the day. A trip to the candy factory with our Preschool friends. We were amazed that all of the kids kept thier candy maker hats on (hair nets). We had to bribe the little ones with taffy along the way to distract them, but we did it. The kids thought it was so funny that they had a chocolate pipe and a sugar pipe. Some of them would like to have one installed at home. They were so good they all got a bag of candy rocks at the end of the tour. Most of them didn't want to eat them but they liked shopping at the candy store at the end.

Swimming Day!

We love our swimming day. Sometimes we go with friends but most of the time we just head to the pool once a week just mom and the boys. It is more fun every time. The boys have grown gills. Jaron's head is barely above water long enough to breath. This week he just took off and could not stop "flying like and airplane". Jax is doing great with front crawl. He thinks he would like to be in a novice meet this summer. The longest distance he has swam so far is 75 yards in the lap pool. He also loves to practice doing flip turns because it is so fun to flip under the water.

Silly Boys!

Jaron is so hillarious. Some days I wonder if he is ever going to get what is going on because he is so care free and laid back . He is usually not in a hurry for anything. Except one preschool day he decided to get himself dressed for school. This is what I found when I came back in from getting Jax off to school. If he ever stayed clean I might have actually let him go to school in those but I encouraged him to change so he didn't get his handsome white duds all dirty. Oh, and he couldn't smile for me because he was whistling and tapping his to the beat.

Jaxon had his 100th day of school and they got to dress up like 100 year old people. We forgot to get some silver hairspray but he looked pretty cute anyway. It worked out perfectly he is missing his two front teeth still and so he looked like a little old toothless man. They had lots of fun activities at school for 100's day.

Happy Birthday Jaxon

I can't believe Jaxon is already 7. He is growing up so fast. He is an awesome big brother. Jax is an amazing reader and loves school. It is so fun to watch him learning new things. Reading, telling time, spelling, money and so many other concepts have just clicked. Sometimes he just amazes us. He still loves his sports and often can't decide if he is going to be on an NBA team or MLS team when he grows up. He loves going to any sporting event around and plays anytime he can too! Happy Birthday Jax we love you!

Rockband!

I never thought I would say this but there is actually a fun video game! I love playing Rockband with my family. We have so much fun together and I can actually do okay. Jaxon is great and so fun to watch. Lex is awesome! He finally achieved his goal of getting 100% on the quitar while we were playing late into the night one night with friends. It was amazing we had our three kids and their two kids asleep all under our roof so we had to take advantage of it and played way too late. We had a blast though!

Winter Roller Skating

The boys got Roller Skates for Christmas for Santa and they had been begging to use them every day. Even with snow on the ground they have so much fun with their friends. It is so fun to see them learn new things. Jax was ready to tie a pillow to his bum though because he was getting a little too sore! I always worry about them breaking bones so for his birthday Jax got all of the knee pads and wrist guards. Hopefully those will help!

The Jaron Show!

How many of us can shake our hips and snap like Elvis. Or can you sing the words to your favorite songs while spinning grandly on the kitchen floor. Our Jaron can, he can even do it on the trampoline or in the car.

My Stubborn Little Monkey

I am totally behind on a lot of things like keeping up this blog. Also keeping up on Grif's pictures. I wanted to get them done at 18 months but at least I made it before he is two. He was a turkey. He would NOT smile. The two photographers were stumped and I just had to laugh at my stubborn boy. He is such a character only when he wants to be. Oh well, he is cute anyway!

Folding Laundry = Fun??

Who new that we could have so much fun folding the laundry. Jaron and Grifin plaayed for hours with one of the laundry baskets while we folded laundry and watched the bowl game. It became a race car, a horse, a fire truck and even a cage for Grif to trap Jar in. It was so fun to watch them. Sometimes we have the most when doing nothing at all. Their imaginations just run wild sometimes. Like when I told Jaron the other day to get his shoes on he naturally asked "Why"? My answer was, "We're going to the moon so let's get going!" He looked at me thoughtfully and said, "We can't mommy, our car doesn't have wings." It made me smile all day whenever I thought about it.

Sledding Fun

We got to go sledding with our friends in 49 degree weather. It was the warm before the storm. The snow was melting fast but we had lots of fun. Jaron and his friend Jamie spent most of the time sliding down the hill on their bellies like walruses. Then Grifin and his buddy Grifin wouldn't give up their sled to anyone. They rode in the sled up the hill and flew back down laughing all the way. Their smiles were so big! Jaxon had a good laugh when he went down by himself hit a jump and got going so fast that he went through the fence and right into the gutter. Now you can't do that on the beach!

Happy 9th Anniversary

We got to celebrate our Anniversary going skiing this year. The boys had a sleepover (without much sleep) at grandma & grandpa's house. They had way too much fun without us. I was a little nervous to go skiing since it had been 12 years since my last trip but with Lex there as my teacher and cheerleader I survived and we actually had a lot of fun. We have to go again this year since I finally got it down by the end of the day but we were just to exhausted to go back up one last time. Happy Anniversary babe, I love you!

Gingerbread House

Grif wanted to eat the house even before it was built. Jax and dad made a masterpiece. It lasted for two weeks before Grif got the opportunity to be alone and attack it.
