Bear Lake 2010

Bear Lake Adventures 2010

BRRRRRR! It is a good thing we love Bear Lake cold or not. The first day we got there it was cold, cold, cold. 62 degrees on the beach in not my idea of fun. The kids could not wait to get to the beach though. So in our sweats and grandma wrapped in a blanket we shivered for a few hours while the kids made their first castle of the trip. Then off to Bear Lake Pizza but it was not so fun this year since Jaron is not eating milk. It was almost like torture for him. So he and mommy at salmon instead. Not a good trade off for a little boy.

Day 2 - was warmer and much more exciting. We had fun digging, building, fishing, skiing, tubing, swimming, relaxing, snacking and of course throwing a little sand too.

Day 3 - we were all a little stiffer from all the fun the day before but that doesn't stop us from doing it all over again. This time we added a pinata to the mix. Watch out grandma the kids might mistake you in your red, white, and blue for the pinata. Siri's birthday wasn't complete without cake and the pinata. We found our new favorite place to stay too. We LOVE Bear Lake!

Good Bye Bear Lake! See you again next year!

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Early birds get the only rides. If you snoozed you loosed. I know bad English but both were true today. Jax and I were the first ones in line for the hot air balloon rides and soon grandpa and grandma joined and then cousins. We were the only four groups that got to go up in the balloon since the wind was getting too strong. it was amazing to look out over the park and all over the city. Jax and I loved it!! I didn't know how hot it would be though. Someday maybe we will take a real ride. But for this time I was glad that we were tied down. Thanks for inviting us grandpa and grandma.

Cousins Sleepover

Fun with cousins! While their mom and dad went to celebrate their Anniversary we got to have lots of fun.

How do you have fun on a hot Summer day? We have a Popsicle stand and earn lots of money and get really tired. The kids were hard workers and sold all of their Popsicles and only ate a few of them.

Copper Mine

Boy Scout badge and huge crowds. Note to self. Pay the five dollars to go just to avoid the unbelievable crowds. Jaron only tried to get himself lost about 10 times. Jaxon and Hayden were earning a badge for Scouts so Zander was trying to help them find all the answers. It was fun but it sure was windy and crazy.

We decided our picnic should be at the park that we used to always go to as kids. It is just the same as I remember it. Of course we had to get a picture even though there was a crazy storm blowing in. Ten seconds after the picture the skies burst and we were all drenched by the time we got in the cars. Thanks for the fun cousins!!

July Festivities

The Stadium of Fire - Daddy loves working for them and we won a couple tickets to go this year. The show was sold out so we weren't all able to go so Jaxon stayed and had his very own fireworks show when he slept over at grandma and grandpa's. Their neighbors did fireworks right out front for over an hour. He, Riley and grandma sat in the window seat to watch. We were a little late for the show since the traffic was horrible and we stayed a little too long at Hayden's Baptism dinner. Jaron was so worried that he was going to miss the Jets flying overhead. He was so happy when we made it in time and it was a powerful ending to our National Anthem. He would have loved for them to keep flying over the whole night. He also loved the Five Browns Star Wars rendition on the piano. Grif and Jar were awesome the whole night. Jaron now is a big fan of Carrie Underwood and can tell me every time she is on the radio. Fun night but it sure was late when we got home.

We love Fireworks with our friends the Smart's. The boys love to play with their girls. Daddy was lucky enough to come with us this year since there was not a game or Fireworks show since the 4th was on a Sunday.

Hooray for fireworks!

We couldn't let the weekend pass by without out a barbeque, water balloon fight, and sparklers. The Smart's were in on the fun and we had a great time eating the fish that daddy and Jaxon caught while they were fishing with grandpa.

The fish were mighty delicious. Wish you all could have tried them!

24th Festivities - We are lucky enough to get to celebrate twice in July. Daddy had to work the soccer game so we got preview screening tickets to a new movie right by his stadium. We thought it was a great idea to see the movie instead of going to the Parade. Well so did everyone else. We weren't able to get in so we went to the Aquarium instead and that was tons of fun. Probably more fun than the movie would have been. The boys loved seeing the live animal show and Jaxon always loves petting the sting ray. It was the perfect time to go. Not many people were there when they opened and it was a fun special outing with dad before he had to work.

We did end up getting tickets to the game so we got to see the fireworks there too. Daddy was still working and didn't get to join us but the boys did get to ride home with him. They are awesome sports fans. I love being able to take them to games by myself when daddy is working.

Baseball

So Jax and Jar wanted to play baseball so we signed them both up for coach pitch not expecting them to be on the same team. For about ten seconds I was disappointed they would have to be on the same team but it actually ended up being a really great experience. The boys had a great coach who was really positive and they learned a lot.

They both really loved being up at bat. Jar was so fun to watch running the bases. His little legs would just spin as he raced to the base trying not to get tagged. Jaron really loved to play catcher. His dimples showed how much he loved playing catcher. The first time he got right in there crouched down ready to catch the ball. He was sad to find out no real catching in Coach Pitch. He still loved to play the position anyway. Jaxon really loved to be in on all the action and liked to play pitcher and 1st base. He caught a couple fly balls and was really good offensively and defensively. What a fun season we had. Go BREWERS!
